L.O.G Cosmetics Hair Care Review- Heads Up Shampoo, Hair She Goes Leave in Conditioner & Tickle Tickle Deep Conditioning Pumpkin Spice Puree

L.O.G Cosmetics Hair Care Review- Heads Up Shampoo, Hair She Goes Leave in Conditioner & Tickle Tickle Deep Conditioning Pumpkin Spice Puree

L.O.G Cosmetics Hair Care Review- Heads Up Shampoo, Hair She Goes Leave in Conditioner & Tickle Tickle Deep Conditioning Pumpkin Spice Puree

Hi Everyone! I am so excited to share this review of L.O.G Cosmetics hair care products. It's a brand I have been trying out for a few months and I have just posted my video review/demo which you can watch below. If you do, please show some love and like & share the video!

Now, L.O.G Cosmetics is a brand which uses a lot of high quality natural ingredients. They do makeup and hair care products but I will only be reviewing their hair care range today. I mentioned in my video that a lot of the hair care products have Aloe Vera Juice as the first ingredient (the ingredient with the highest concentration) instead of water which definitely shows that they use high quality ingredients.

£16.99 Tickle Tickle Deep Conditioning Pumpkin Spice Puree

"Our Pumpkin Spice Protein Puree is a creamy conditioner that is designed to strengthen weak hair cuticles, prevent damage, and tantalize the senses. It is guaranteed to repair brittle hair textures with its amazing blend of pumpkin extract, cinnamon, nutmeg and organic pumpkin seed oil."

Tickle Tickle Deep Conditioning Pumpkin Spice Puree

First up is this deep conditioning treatment. I was so impressed by this as a lot of fully natural conditioners tend to have little to no slip (in my experience), and I have tried a lot of products! You can even see in the picture how creamy it is. It has a subtle vanilla scent and contain a lot of amazing ingredients like Aloe Vera Juice, Shea Butter,  Natural extracts (Yucca, Horsetail & Nettle), Natural Oils, Vitamins, Hydrolysed Keratin. I do suggest you watch the video so that you can see  how shiny my hair looked after I had used this and also how easily it spread when I applied it. With any conditioner I always have to use a ton, but I really didn't with this one. It's not a massive jar and despite that, I got 4 uses out of it.

"Say no to dry brittle hair! HAIR SHE GOES is guaranteed to nourish your curly or dry brittle hair. Its made from coconut milk and moisturizing cocoa butter, very light weight leave-in and promises to rehydrate even the driest of hair types leaving your hair soft and manageable."

Now to the leave in conditioner, called "Hair She Goes". This too contains Aloe Vera Juice as the first ingredient, followed by Coconut Oil then Behentrimonium Methosulfate which is used to give the product more slip. Overall this didn't give me too much slip as in I would use it to detangle, this wasn't a problem though as I applied it onto already detangled hair as you can see in the video. It made my hair soft and I actually blow dried my hair with this in as I was just about to put braids in.

£15.99  Heads Up Shampoo

"Heads up for Our 100% natural shampoo is enriched with a soothing blend of organic peppermint and sweet essence of dark chocolate. Got naturally kinky hair? We’ve got you covered with our 100% natural conditioning shampoo your hair will be cleansed, revitalized and ultimately moisturised."

This actually isn't a shampoo as it doesn't contain any synthetic cleansing agents like Sulfates. It is a castile soap but it is so rich and creamy that I would say it pretty much looks like it could be a conditioner, until it comes in contact with water and starts to lather (if you want to see exactly how much it lathers please check out the video). I guess another way you could describe the formulation is more of a cleansing cream or Co-wash. It reminds me a little bit of the Curls cleansing cream that I used years ago when I was relaxed/transitioning. I way very impressed by this product because it really did cleanse and condition my hair at the same time, if you watch my video review you can see that after I rinsed the product out, my hair actually looked not only conditioned but also had a healthy sheen to it- something I don't see a lot with the bleached parts of my hair. Sometimes I do detangle with Shampoo and you can see in the video that due to this shampoo being so creamy it was very easy to detangle.

These three products can be bought separately and I have included the price and direct link if you want to check them out on the website. You can also buy them in a set called "Itchy Scalp Trio" for £47. Overall I was very impressed by the quality of these products, they are all quite pricey but you literally get what you pay for. I do get quite a few Nigerian ladies on Instagram (@Yolandaas) asking me about natural hair products so I am happy that I finally have some products I can recommend for my naija sisters, as these are available in Nigeria. To purchase in Nigerian you can contact them via telephone 09084991140 or check out their Nigerian Instagram page.

Hope you enjoyed this review guys and if you are interested here is where you can find L.o.g Cosmetics online:

Trying Out: Healthy Hair Studio By Enitan: 100% Luxury Egyptian Cotton Hair Cloth

Healthy Hair Studio By Enitan: 100% Luxury Egyptian Cotton Hair Cloth

So excited for today's review guys. I am sure you have all (especially within the natural hair community) heard of people using T-shirts to dry their hair instead of a towel as the fabric of towels isn't very gentle on your hair and can cause damage. Personally, I never tried it because the thought of using a T-shirt to wrap/dry my hair wasn't that appealing to me, however I do recognise that using a normal towel is probably not the best for your hair. This is why I was really excited when I was contacted about review this product. The lady behind the idea has her hair studio and she didn't want to use damaging towels on her clients' hair, nor did she want to use T-shirts as that just wouldn't professional. She therefor created this product with the intention to use for her client as there are none (or few) similar products out on the market and decided to offer them for sale as she saw a demand for them.

Picture borrowed from website: http://www.agidee.com/healthyhair/: Healthy Hair Studio By Enitan: 100% Luxury Egyptian Cotton Hair Cloth

Here is some information on why you might want to stop drying your hair with regular towels and try out the Egyptian Cotton Hair Cloth, £10.50:

"Stop using towels on your hair. Traditional towels are made with a harsh abrasive fabric which will lift the hair cuticles and create frizz. Wouldn't you like your bantu knot out or twist out to be more defined ?

The richest in thread count and smoothness of this Egyptian cotton hair cloth will reduce friction which means less breakage. Wouldn't you like your air dried hair to give have a more polished look?
This 100% egyptian cotton hair cloth will remove excess water from your hair rather than all the moisture. Wouldn't you prefer to keep as much moisture as possible in your hair after you deep condition"

Healthy Hair Studio By Enitan: 100% Luxury Egyptian Cotton Hair Cloth

Now let me start of by saying that the hair cloth will arrive in a nice parcel and will be wrapped with a cute bow as you can see in the first picture. The cotton looks like it has a bit of a silky texture to it as it is so smooth. AsI have been using this cloth for a while and didn't get around to taking the pictures before, mine is a bit stained.

As you can see you can use the hair cloth as you usually wrap a towel around your hair, or as I have used it above, wrapping it like a head scarf. For me the latter alternative was really convenient because sometimes I like to sit with my hair towel for a while, allowing it to "towel" dry. Although the hair cloth is quite big, it isn't bulky and thick like a towel and whichever way you choose to wrap it- it will stay on your head and won't feel heavy.

Healthy Hair Studio By Enitan: 100% Luxury Egyptian Cotton Hair Cloth

Just a picture to show you the actual size of the product, in this picture it is folded so it is twice as long. Also, for this type of product, the quality and the fact that this is an independent company, I personally think the price £10.99 is pretty amazing!

Have you tried any hair wraps or hair cloths?

Or do you use a towel/t-shirt?

Braidout Video Tutorial For Natural 3C/4A/4B/4C Hair || UK Blogger || #MotionsBA

I am back with another Youtube video guys. I actually filmed it over a month ago but because I was still stupidly playing music in the background while filming, it kept getting copyrighted and I re-edited and re-uploaded three times. Anyway it is finally up. I would love some feedback on how I can improve my videos and or video suggestions! :)

Braidout Video Tutorial For Natural 3C/4A/4B/4C Hair

I didn't mention any specific products for this tutorial only because I use different products all the time at the moment. I still don't really have a favourite combination and I have been reviewing a lot of different products. However, as you can see in the video I do use Eco Styler gel for my edges (I took the pictures before I did my edges, I forgot lol) and Dove Serum to prevent frizz while taking the plaits down.

Do you remember my first ever braid out post from last year (here)? My hair almost looks shorter & tbh I think I prefer my results from last year. I mean we all know what shrinkage is but I can't fully understand how my hair actually looks shorter even though it's grown a lot, oh well!

Announcement: Motions Brand Ambassador/ Brand Ambassador Dinner Meet Up

Hi Everyone! I am glad to announce that my blog is back again after the long break I've had. What's even more exciting is that I am now a brand ambassador for Motions, this was confirmed a few weeks ago and I wen't to a dinner with Motions and the three other lovely brand ambassadors.

THE MEET UP

A week or so after I was contacted by Motions asking me if I was interested in joining their Brand Ambassador Programme, they arranged a meet up so that all of the Brand Ambassadors and the brand manager could meet. The meet up was at the Thai restaurant Busaba Eathai in West London and the food was amazing! During the amazing dinner we were given some Motions hair products, a brand ambassador booklet and some updates and general information about Motions and why we were chosen as the brand ambassadors. Like Davina from the London Curls said, we are all opinionated girls with a passion for hair care, but I like how we are all pretty different and some of us are natural, some wear weave etc because hopefully together we will be able to represent all types of women and hair styles.

Please check out these lovely ladies websites & channels;

ABOUT MOTIONS

I am so glad to be able to work together with one of the biggest afro hair care brands, especially now that it is a part of Unilever! I am sure you all know the brand, whether you've been using it recently, or like me you remember it as one of the first brands you used during your childhood. However Motions have given their brand a little make over with new packaging and a variety of products that cater to all types of women and different hair styles/preferences. If you know me personally you know that I am obsessed with the colour purple and even more the combination of gold & purple so I absolutely love the new packaging. Their product line includes products for natural hair, relaxed hair and products for straightening natural hair. Check out all of their products here (selected Motions products are now available at Superdrug, yay!)

About the brand ambassador programme (information from the booklet:

  • To start with, we were all chosen because of our passion for hair care, fashion or beauty and our social media following.
  • Part of the brand ambassador role is to attend events, debates, meet ups on behalf of Motions.
  • We will regularly try out and review Motions products on our Youtube channels or blogs.
  • At the end of the programme we will receive an Official Unilever/Motions Hair certificate.

Straightening Natural Hair: Frizz Free & Smooth Results Using Chill- A Smooth Operator Oil Serum by Ed Lush

Straightening Natural Hair: Frizz Free & Smooth Results Using Chill- A Smooth Operator Oil Serum by Ed Lush

Straightening Natural Hair: Frizz Free & Smooth Results Using Chill- A Smooth Operator Oil Serum by Ed Lush

How to straighten natural afro hair and get long lasting, smooth and frizz free results? I recently straightened my natural hair, and this time I used a product I hadn't used before: Chill Oil Serum by Ed Lush. I received it a while ago to review but I tend to use serums for straightening my hair, as a heat protectant so I wanted to wait until I straightened it. Ingredient wise, it mainly contains silicones as a serum usually does, but for you guys who want to stay away from mineral oil- this isn't for you as it does contain mineral oil. I must say I didn't "notice" it tho, the formula is actually very smooth and quite runny, and absolutely not sticky.

Now I have reviewed quite a few serums on my blog before one from Mixed Chicks, one from Dove and one from John Frieda (all linked) and this is actually my favourite! Firstly, this one smells so nice.. I love it! Especially as I am straightening my hair with it, which tends to make my hair smell a bit burnt lol.

Check out my video to see how I used this product. The picture above is actually when I re straightened my hair a week later because I forgot to take a picture the first time, so if you check out my initial results at the end of the video below you'll notice how straight and smooth my hair looked! :) I definitely noticed a difference when using this serum from the other times I straightened my hair- my results were also longer lasting!

What do you use when you straighten your hair and what do you think of my results?

Foxy Hair Extensions Synthetic Wrap Around Ponytail Review on Natural Hair

Foxy Hair Extensions Synthetic Wrap Around Ponytail Review on Natural Hair

Foxy Hair Extensions Synthetic Wrap Around Ponytail Review on Natural Hair
Sorry guys- no makeup! This is a hair review after all :)

Today I will be sharing my first hair piece review! I got to choose a product from http://www.foxyhairextensions.net/ and I picked the Foxy Hair Extensions Synthetic Wrap Around Ponytail "Cappuccino" (*) as I thought it could work on my natural hair when straightened- for an updo with some extra length.

I chose the shade Cappuccino hoping it would be a match to the colour of my hair, and I think it was quite a close match. The hair piece is made with synthetic hair and is 18 inch. On the right side you can see a separate, curled section of hair, this is what you use around your ponytail, to cover up the area where the pony tail attaches to your hair. As with most synthetic hair it does get tangled pretty easily, especially as it is 18 inch which is pretty long. Also, this hair is very straight and probably more suitable from someone with straight hair, relaxed afro hair  or curly/afro hair that has been blown out or straightened.

Foxy Hair Extensions Synthetic Wrap Around Ponytail Review on Natural Hair

I decided to see what it would look like as a bun, as I didn't actually blow out or straighten my hair for this post- it was just stretched from previous hair styles and pulled back in a bun. Therefore wearing a long, bone straight 18 inch pony tail might not look very natural! I actually really love how this looks as a bun. I started off with applying the ponytail as in the pics above, then I just wrapped the hair around itself and secured it with bobbi pins. If you are wearing this look make sure you use a lot of bobbi pins as this hair is quite "slippery".

What do you think looks better, the bun or the long ponytail?
Have you ordering anything from Foxy Hair before?

Xmas Party Ready with Dove Intensive Repair & Colour Radiance Express Treatment Conditioner Review

Dove Intensive Repair & Colour Radiance Express Treatment Conditioner Review

So I was given this pretty box of Dove goodies a while ago. The concept behind this box is that these products will get you ready in a hot second- perfect for any upcoming Christmas party or other parties or even blog event you have to attend! I can definitely relate to wanting to treat my hair but not having the time to deep condition as long or often as I'd like to so I really like the idea of this! They also generously included a pair of cosy slippers and a soothing eye mask to enjoy on a cosy night in or after the party!

DOVE INTENSIVE REPAIR EXPRESS TREATMENT CONDITIONER (*)

"Dove Intensive Repair Express Treatment Conditioner works in just one minute. Our dual action formula contains Fibre Actives™ technology which penetrate deep inside the hair to help reinforce damaged proteins without weighing hair down as well as helping to repair and sealing lifted cuticles to help protect against future damage. Prevents split ends and breakage."- Dove's Website
So instead of the normal deep conditioner that you usually let sit in your hair for a while- this can be used daily (or as often as you wash your hair) instead of your usual conditioner, and is designed to work on your hair in just one minute. The formula is white, pretty thick and smells very nice. It has normal slip and I definitely think that it feels more like a deep conditioner than a regular conditioner. I left it in for a minute as instructed and then rinsed out. Afterwards my hair felt super soft and smelt super nice I'd say it is the type of conditioner that "repairs" your hair on the outside, as the description above says- by sealing lifted cuticles. It contains both silicones and mineral oil which I assume are some of the ingredients helping with that.

COLOUR RADIANCE EXPRESS TREATMENT CONDITIONER (*)

"Introducing the next generation of daily conditioner with the added benefits of a treatment and the best bit is that it works in just one minute! The dual action formula gives you instant nourishment; the Colour Revitaliser™ Stripe contains a UV filter and is specially formulated to seal the cuticle and protect coloured hair, whilst the nourishment stripe replenishes and helps repair hair from the inside. So your hair is, replenished, revitalised and your colour more vibrant* looking for up to 10 weeks".- Dove's Website
Contrary to the other conditioner, the formula of this felt more like a regular conditioner than a deep conditioner as it was a little thinner. Unless I was imagining this- it looked like a mix of pink and white coloured conditioner in there- pretty cool! This one, as you can see above is more so design to protect and nourish coloured hair and contains some strengthening ingredients. This had a little more slip which is always useful if you have curly or just very tangly hair. After rinsing my curls looked soo nice and shiny! I'd say this is definitely my favourite out of the two products.

Ingredient Check:
  • Silicones (√)
  • Mineral Oil (√)
  • Propylene/Butylene Glycol (/)
  • Parabens (/)

SUMMARY

If you don't mind using silicones & mineral oil in your hair care products, I'd recommend these instead of your regular conditioner, combined with deep conditioners that can also strengthen your hair from within. My personal favourite is the Dove Colour Radiance Express Treatment Conditioner as it contains some nice ingredients like Wheat Protein, Almond and Coconut oil and Silica. The Dove Intensive Repair Express Treatment Conditioner probably suits someone who wants damaged hair to quickly look more healthy and does not mind using synthetic ingredients.

Have you tried any of these?
What do you think of the idea of an express conditioner?

Hair Care: Ecoco Inc Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel Vs. Argan Oil Eco Styler Gel, Comparison & Review

Hair Care: Ecoco Inc Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel Vs. Argan Oil Eco Styler Gel
Comparison & Review

Ecoco Inc Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel Vs. Argan Oil Eco Styler Gel, Comparison & Review

Ecoco Inc Olive Oil Eco Styler Gel

"Eco Styler Olive Oil Styling Gel contains 100% Pure Olive Oil for deep down conditioning while maintaining maximum hold. Contains UV Protection and helps your scalp regulate its natural moisture system. For all hair types. Used by professionals."- Sallys.com

So this is the first of the Eco Styler gels that I tried out. I had just done my "big chop" (read about it here) and I bought it to use on my edges. Now this is suppose to have a 10/10 hold, and I definitely do not agree with that. It's more of a 7/ 8 as it does keep your edge in place, but they don't stay as neat all day and it doesn't leave that crunchy feeling on your head. I personally do not want a stronger hold so this product work fine for me! I think it gives a natural looking result which is perfect if you don't want that slicked/greasy edges look- I know I don't lol!

Ecoco Inc Argan Oil Eco Styler Gel

"Eco Styler Moroccan Argan Oil Styling Gel is formulated with rare oils extracted from kernels of the Argan tree in Morocco. The formula conditions and revitalizes the hair while adding a brilliant shine. Moisturizes providing hydration and elasticity to hair."- Sallys.com

  • When my Olive Oil Eco Styler gel finished I decided to give this a try. Looking at the ingredient list below they are practically the same except for this product the Olive Oil is swapped with Argan Oil. Again, this product is claimed to have a 10/10 which I still don't agree with. I think this product feels slightly "oiler" than the Olive Oil one and has less hold, maybe like a 5. It doesn't keep my edges looking as neat as they do with the Olive Oil Eco Styler gel, but I am usually not going for the perfectly laid edges look so for me that isn't really an issue.

Conclusion

  •  I really like both of these products but I don't think neither of them give the promised 10/10 hold. For me, the Eco Styler Argan Oil had a little less hold so I would recommend it to use for a more natural look, or to use when styling your hair in a braid out, twist out or flat twist out. I never got any build up or a crunchy feel with either of these products the way I used them. If I had to pick a favourite I will probably have to go with the Olive Oil one as it did keep my edges looking a bit more neat than the Eco Styler Argan Oil did.

Ingredient Check:
  • Silicones (/)
  • Mineral Oil (/)
  • Propylene/Butylene Glycol (/)
  • Glycerin (√)

  • ! It contains Wheat Protein so it is to be avoided if you are allergic to Gluten.

Have you tried either of these products, which one did you prefer?
And if not, what is your favourite gel and how do you use it?

Dove Style & Care Range Styling Event at the London Soho Hotel

Dove Style & Care Range Styling Event at the London Soho Hotel

So if you follow me on Instagram you already know that I was lucky enough to attend the Dove Style & Care Range Styling Event at the gorgeous London Soho Hotel. As opposed to an event where everyone attend at the same time, you had your own time slot when you could visit and attend for a styling session by celebrity hair stylist Christian Wood.

First off I was welcomed with drinks and some nice canapés to eat. Then the lovely Dove UK & Ireland & the Golin Harris Beauty teams gave me an introduction on the new Dove Style & Care range which consists of the Dove Heat Protect Spray, Dove Dry Shampoo, Dove Frizz Free Cream Serum & Dove Nourishing Dry Ends Serum. As the name reveals it's a range of products which are suppose to care for your hair as you style it- focusing on the health of your hair, as healthy hair will hold a style even better :)

After that I went on to have my hair styled by Christian Wood. As I knew the session was 30 minutes I showed up with blow dried hair as it would be impossible to achieve any type of style in 30 minutes with straight afro hair. Christian straightened my hair before styling it, and he chose a loosely braided updo which I really loved!

This is the final results, these pictures where taken in the evening the same day, but the style still looked great. I actually kept it in all from this day which was a Thursday I believe, until the Sunday lol!

What do you think of the finished results?
& Have you tried the Dove Style & Care range?

Bargain Leave in Conditioners for Curly, Natural or Transitioning Hair from Beautiful Textures, African Pride & Skala

Bargain Leave in Conditioners for Curly, Natural or Transitioning Hair

Bargain Leave in Conditioners for Curly, Natural or Transitioning Hair from Skala, African Pride and Beautiful Textures

So since going natural I have been forever searching for the perfect leave in conditioner. I have preivously reviewed the Cantu Shea butter leave in conditioner and the Curls Souffle leave in conditioner. What I mean by perfect is affordable, fairly natural ingredients and preferably quite a big jar so I don't have to keep repurchasing.

Here are four leave in conditioners which I know are readily available in the UK as well as the US. None of them cost more than £5. I choose to link the products from Paks Cosmetics websites and show their prices, as they ship to the UK, US & Europe (I am not affiliated with them in any way) .

Overall this is definitely okay and has quite a lot of slip and moisturises my hair. However it has a really weird smell, the only way I can describe it is like an old lady's perfume. No offence to them but that's not the way I like to smell lol. It has a lot of interesting ingredients like Egg Yolk and Pollen extract but I can't say if these are really good for your hair or not. I used this whole bottle up and it was great for twist outs and similar styles, but I won't repurchase because of the scent.

Ingredient check:

Mineral Oil (/)
Silicones (/)
Propylene/Butylene Glycol: (√)
Parabens (/)
Glycerin* (√)

This is my favourite out of all of them, just because it is affordable, it works, it has got great ingredients and it smells amazing! This is the last one I bought out of all of these and I have since repurchased it 3 times I think. Keep in mind that there is one product that looks exactly the same as this, with almost the same ingredient list but the title for the other one is "Leave in Conditioner". I believe I have used both but I didn't know they were different and the ingredient are almost exactly the same. They both have great slip so they are great for detangling and doing twist outs and braid outs.

Ingredient check:

Mineral Oil (/)
Silicones (√)
Propylene/Butylene Glycol: (/)
Parabens (/)
Glycerin* (√)

This is my least favourite. I actually got it by accident and it is the only one I have not actually used up, because I don't like it. This one also has a product very similar to it, but the formula is completely different and does not contain Olive Oil. If you look at the ingredient check below it literally contains all of the so called "bad" ingredients. The main issue for me is the mineral oil and i can't say for sure if it is actually due to that, but this really doesn't do much for my hair and is kind of sticky.

Ingredient check:

Mineral Oil (v) plus Petroleum
Silicones (v)
Propylene/Butylene Glycol: (v)
Parabens: (v)
Glycerin* (v)

This is definitely the best for detangling so it definitely lives up to its name. It has got great slip and smells amazing. The only reason that this isn't my favourite is because it is slightly more expensive than the African Pride Bouncy Curls Pudding. Another plus is that it comes on a bottle and not a jar which is much more useful.

Ingredient check:

Mineral Oil
Silicones (v)
Propylene/Butylene Glycol: (v)
Parabens:
Glycerin* (v)

Here are the full ingredient lists:

* I haven't added Glycerin to the ingredient because it is considered a bad ingredient by some, but I am hearing more and more of some people (mainly in the US) avoiding Glycerin during certain seasons depending on the climate.

John Frieda Frizz Ease Conditioner, Shampoo & Hair Serum

John Frieda Frizz Ease Conditioner, Shampoo & Hair Serum

John Frieda Frizz Ease Conditioner, Shampoo & Hair Serum Ingredients and Review

So you might remember that I reviewed the John Frieda Dream Curls products a while back, curls- check them out! This time I was sent the John Frieda Frizz Ease products to try, and I was so over due with trying them out. They are like the classics for curly/frizzy hair that I never tried. When I was young and lived in Sweden where there were only white hair salons, the only thing they had to recommend was actually the John Frieda Frizz Ease Hair Serum, but I never got around to trying it. Overall I'd say I actually like these products a little more than the Dream Curl ones.

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Conditioner: So the formula of this conditioner is not very thick, and it has great slip. The third ingredient is the gentle detangler Behentrimonium Chloride which is followed by an alcohol and Olive Oil. I am not sure if the conditioner itself prevent frizz as I did not air dry my hair after using it. Definitely a conditioner I would recommend and I think it would be suitable for all hair types. Smells yummy too!

Ingredient Check:
  • Mineral oil (/)
  • Silicones (√)
  • Parabens (/)
  • Butylene/Propylene Glycol (√)
  • Alcohol (√)
  • Sulfates (/)

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Smooth Start Hydrating Shampoo: So the first thing I noticed about this was that the formula of this looked slightly different to the normal pearlescent shampoo, it looked more like a gel or custard. I was super impressed by the fact that it gave my hair amazing slip and I was able to detangle my extremely knotty tangled afro hair, so much so that when I then conditioned it, I didn't have to detangle. However it is definitely a clarifying shampoo with both of the harsh sulfates, and it leaves my hair feeling very stripped (which I don't mind, because I will obviously condition it afterwards).

Ingredient Check:

  • Mineral oil (/)
  • Silicones (√)
  • Parabens (√)
  • Butylene/Propylene Glycol (/)
  • Alcohol (√)

John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum Original Formula: So the first thing I noticed about this, and why I had never bought it before is because it contains mineral oil, which is a pretty cheap synthetic version of an oil which can cause build up on the hair and kind of coat it. However, in all honesty that does makes sense for an anti frizz product as those things are what would prevent frizz. I used it to blow dry my hair and had recently used a similar products so it was easy for me to make a comparison. I think this serum definitely worked as well or a bit better on my hair and it left it shiny and frizz free. It is a silicone based serum so that will naturally product from heat and in addition to that it contains hydrolysed silk which can help making your hair smooth.

Have you tried these products?

How did you like them?

Handpicked Media London Fashion Week Event

Handpicked Media London Fashion Week Event

So last weekend I popped in to the Handpicked Media suite at the One Aldwych hotel. Even though I came a little late I was glad to pop in to fellow UK bloggers Annie from EpihannieA, Hafsa Muslimah Beauty and Jessie from Look What I Got.

There were loads of lovely brands at the suit, some of which I am sure I missed as I came a little late, and on the second day. Above you can see Anna Lou's jewellery pieces which were all really gorgeous. I found it really interesting to read (and speak with her) about the fact that her line was actually discovered when she sold her things at the Portobello market. She also offered us bloggers our own custom made pieces, and I chose a bracelet with a flat gold charm with my star sign symbol on one side and my initials on the other- can't wait to receive it :)

First stop was actually the HD Brows corner, where I got my brows done by sweet Laura. She didn't actually pluck or tweeze them to shape them, but she plucked a few tiny hairs that were growing back out. The main thing was that they filled them in using a really sharp squared shaped eyebrow pencil. Check out the flawless results!

Then last but not least we received a really generous goodie bag. As I came late- I am sure a lot of things were finished but I was really excited about loads of edibles lol and lovely Natalie from Handpicked was pretty generous with the products as you can see ;)
