MDMFlow Lipstick Shake MilkShake Review

MDMFlow Lipstick Shake MilkShake Review

So you may or may not have heard of hip hop influenced lipstick brand MDMFlow. It was created by Florence Adepoju who is actually a graduate of the course I am currently studying at University (Cosmetic Science at London College Of Fashion), so needless to say she is quite inspirational to me! Also, the lipsticks are handmade by herself. The range consists of 9 pigmented shades, some of which are blue, gold and black. You can order her lipsticks from the MDMFlow website here, or do what I did- visit her pop up store in Shoreditch any time before Sunday the 23rd (I believe).

MDMflow, shade Milkshake, £18: So I went to the pop up store with my friend as I really wanted to have a proper look at the range, and swatch them. Also, contrary to what you might think seeing as I am a beauty blogger, I am not a hoarder and I would not like to buy a shade I already have. This light pink shade caught my eye, and it happened to be the one Florence was wearing in the store that day as well- I thought it was really nice! I chose it because it looks super pigmented but it is also very creamy and glossy- which I am sure you can see in the picture.

What's kind of different is that as you can see, the lipstick looks very light, baby pink before swatching it, but then when you actually swatch or wear it, it is more pink/purpleish. As I was in the store, I saw that and I liked the shade it turns into. But it is worth mentioning if you are ordering it on the website, thinking it will be really light. Also, it is pretty pricy at £18 and I am actually not a big spender, I own one Mac lipstick which was £12, and it took me like a week to decide to buy it (haha, yes I'm serious), the rest are a couple of cheap lipsticks. But I could tell this lipstick was of good quality, I LOVE the packaging and name, and of course- I am all for supporting independent businesses as opposed to mass produced ones. The staying power is decent, and pretty much what you'd except from a creamy lipstick, after 3-4 hours it still looks nice, the pigment is there but it's worn off if you look close.

What do you think of this lipstick and
this brand?

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Babydoll and Guava Review

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Babydoll and Guava Review

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Babydoll and Guava Review

Today I'll be reviewing these Earthnicity Liquid lips (*) in the shades Babydoll and Guava. If you didn't already know, Earthnicity is a UK natural makeup brand and I have previously reviewed the Earthnicity mineral eyeshadows and done some makeup looks with the which you can check out here and here.

As you can see, they are highly pigmented and you would want to apply them using a lip brush. I think they are very very similar to the OCC Lip Tars or Sleek Pout Paints, and sort of a fully natural dupe to them!

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Babydoll and Guava swatches

I chose these two shades myself, and the first one up is the Earthnicity Liquid Lips "Babydoll". It is that typical light, baby pink shade which I think is a must to have! I have worn in on some selfies on my Instagram and actually received comments about what shade I was wearing. As with most light shades, well especially if you aren't light skinned- you need to play about with it a little to make it look nice. I find that the edges sometimes look to harsh and weird with lighter shades.

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Babydoll Review

Next one up is the Earthnicity Liquid Lips "Guava" I thought this shade was cute and something I didn't already own, the picture have actually captured the shade very well and it is kind of a dark coral shade. This is super pigmented and very creamy and glossy!

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Guava Review

They staying power is good for both of them but I'd say it is a little less than for example the Sleek Pout Paints, which even after fading sort of stay on as a lip stain on the lips. But looking at the amazing and fully natural ingredient list- I am so impressed with the way these apply and how extremely pigmented they are. You won't even need to apply lip balm before using these as they only contain natural oils and waxes.

Earthnicity Liquid Lips Babydoll and Guava Review Ingredient List

Have you tried out Earthnicity Products?
Check out my other posts on them here.

Which one is your favourite shades out of these two?

Miss Sporty Bright Red Perfect Color Lipstick Shade 058 Malaga

Miss Sporty Bright Red Perfect Color Lipstick Shade 058 Malaga

Miss Sporty Bright Red Perfect Color Lipstick Shade 058 Malaga

It has been pretty long since I did a lipstick review.. I believe the last one was the Tom Ford Violet Fatale which is another favourite of mine. I got this lipstick when shopping with Nicole from Nicole's Beauty, I think it was like £3 which is a great price.

I've only ever tried Miss Sport years ago, and it was a nail polish, but I was really drawn to this shade. There was a point when I was looking for exactly this shade for really long- but never found the perfect one.

Miss Sporty Bright Red Perfect Color Lipstick Shade 058 Malaga

So what do I think of this lipstick?

  • Pigmentation- Great, as you can see.
  • Staying power- I'd say is better than average, but not amazing. Definitely lasts a good 4-5 hours, even when eating.
  • Price- Well I personally think £3 for such a pigmented lipstick.
  • Smell- It smells amazing, of watermelon! Which is super random as it doesn't say anything about that.

What do you think of this lipstick?
& have you tried this or anything else from this brand?

Very Random Recent Favourites, Perfume, Lipstick, Hair Products, Skin Care & Makeup

Very Random Recent Favourites, Perfume, Lipstick, Hair Products, Skin Care & Makeup

1. Miss Sporty Perfect Colours Lipstick, shade 058 Malaga- I actually haven't had this for long, nor tried it more than once but I am really impressed with it. The shade is a very bright red, orangy shade and I just felt like it stayed on for so long. Well I stayed on for a whole work day without re applying (bare in mind that is through 3 cups of hot chocolate, 3 cups of tea, countless cups of water, 2 rounds of snacking and one lunch). And the fact that it was a bit under £3 I think makes it even better. Oh, and it smells of melon, so much that I can smell it when wearing it, yummy!

2. DHC Mascara Perfect Pro Double Protection Mascara (*)- You might or might not have seen my review on this mascara here. Definitely check it out to see how long my lashes are when wearing this! I really really love it and I think I might have to purchase it when it finishes.

3. Earthnicity Powder Mineral Foundation, shade Warm Caramel (*)- I have previously mentioned this in a post about my (then) new Earthnicity products here. As I mentioned there, I had never tried a powder foundation before but I'd been wanting to. It definitely exceeded my expectations and despite me being a non- foundation wearer prior to trying this out- I've been wearing it every day since I got it. I will definitely purchase this when it runs out.

4, Beautiful Textures Moisture Butter Whipped Curl Creme- This is a hair product I bought fairly recently because I am forever searching for the perfect leave in conditioner/moisturiser. It was only £3.49 which I think it is great for 226 grams (god knows why they couldn't just put that in ml), but you can see that it is a big jar. It smells amazing and contains a lot of oils and butters like Olive Oil, Argan Oil, Coconut Oil and Shea Butter. It does contain silicones but no mineral oil or parabens.

5. Rihanna Nude, Perfume- Ever since Rihanna first released her perfume Rebl Fleur, which is the same kind of bottle but in gold/black colours- I've been wanting it. But stingy is I am I never got it. So I got this (well I chose it) as a birthday present from my lovely Granny, and I love it! i used so much that it is already finished though.

6. Boots, Witch Hazel Gel- A gel consisting of witch hazel, glycerin an alcohol. Super cheap and great for treating unclear skin! This only cost £1.99 and I don't think a lot of people know about it. Great alternative to expensive "blemish sticks" and all of these Witch hazel products.

7. Make up Store, Pink Powder Brush- I randomly got this in Sweden, super expensive at (£20), at first I sort of felt likeI had wasted my money. But to be fair I didn't have a chance to use it properly as I didn't even had any powder or powder foundation. That was until I got the chance to try the amazing Earthnicity Mineral Foundation (number 3 above). Now I absolutely love them both!

Have you tried any of these?

♥ La Colors Purple Lipstick Review

La Colors Purple Lipstick Review

Today I just wanted to do a quick review of this LA Colors lipstick that I bought a while ago when I was out shopping with Nicole from Nicole's Beauty. I had been searching for a proper purple lipstick, that doesn't look like a plum shade for quite a while so when I found this for only £1, I thought why not?

The lipstick itself has that nice vanilla scent, a bit like MAC lipsticks. The ingredients are listed on the side, unfortunately I don't have a picture of the ingredient list but it does contain mineral oil and parabens too I am sure. However, I think that is justifiable for a £1 product.

Application? As you can see in the picture above, even though the lipstick itself if pretty pigmented, it applies quite unevenly. It has that waxy feel that sometimes doesn't want to stick to your lips.

I would definitely buy more of these lipsticks anyway because I think the result is great and it looks like any other £1+ lipstick. I believe they had loads of shades so I'll definitely go back to get more.

La Colors is available in most afro hair care stores, but they mostly sell the nail polishes only. Thr makeup is available at Beauty Base at Westfield.

Check out my soft smokey eye EOTD using a La Colors eyeshadow palette here.

♥ DHC Moisture Care Lipstick PK04 Sweetpea Review

DHC Moisture Care Lipstick PK04 Sweetpea Perfect Prop Makeup Range

Today I will be reviewing this DHC Moisture Care Lipstick Shade PK04 Sweetpea. It was in the goodie bag of the DHC event that I wrote about here. DHC is a brand which I am fairly new to, I had not tried their products until I tried their Cleansing Oil from the #bbloggersxmas event. It's amazing! You guys know I love oils for everything.
DHC Moisture Care Lipstick PK04 Sweetpea

This is how it is described on the web site "Enriched with plumping collagen and moisture-retaining sodium hyaluronate, these nourishing lip colours provide beautiful shine and long-lasting coverage. Our special formula glides across your lips to hydrate and flatter – for a more lustrous pout. Choose from four chic shades."

DHC Moisture Care Lipstick PK04 Sweetpea

DHC Moisture Care Lipstick PK04 Sweetpea

The packaging of this lipstick is very different to the ones you usually see, I like it! As you can see in the picture, this is definitely a neutral shade (it's not red, or coral even though it might look like it in the picture). It has some slight shimmers in it and gives a wash of colour. I agree that is has a slight plumping effect, it could be because it is a light shade and pretty glossy. You definitely don't need a lip gloss on top of this.

DHC Moisture Care Lipstick PK04 Sweetpea

I think overall the ingredients are good, it's not all natural ingredients or anything but nothing that particularly worries me.

Ingredient check:

  • Mineral Oil (/)
  • Silicones (/)
  • Parabens (/)
  • Propylene Glycol (/)

♥ New Beauty Products from Garnier, Loreal & LA Colors

Beauty Products from Garnier, Loreal & LA Colors

Just wanted to show you guys these products I picked up at Westfield when I met up with lovely Nicole from Nicole's Beauty. It's quite funny because she is also Swedish/Nigerian like myself, except plus Finish as well :) . The scrub and mascara were things that I needed because my previous ones had finished, and the LA Colour stuff was just something I wanted to try out because they were cheap and I hadn't tried them before.

So this palette has got such nice shades! Now that I think of it, it sort of looks like a dupe from this INGLOT palette that I put in a recent makeup wish list. It was so odd because the shades of the untouched palettes looked completely different to the tester ones in some cases, which caused a lot of confusion to me, to say the least lol. In the end I skeptically settled for the explanation "the top layer of the shadows have a slightly different colour". Turns out it was true.

Oh my god, I've been wanting a purple lipstick for soo long guys. I did want a darker one, but since this was only £1 I thought it might be fun to try it out. Love the shade and pigmentation is good as well, however the formula is a bit strange. It's that kind of formula that sometimes doesn't want to "stick" to your lips, especially not in the inner/middle parts of your lips. It is still great for a pound though.

Oh yeah and speaking of LA Colors and purple lipsticks, I can't believe I won Akilah's (from http://perfectlyrandomblog.blogspot.co.uk/) giveaway!! :) (the price was a purple lippy, la colour shadows etc)

Have you tried LA colours?
Do u know any other bargain purple lipstick?

♥ Chantecaille Luminous Lip Gloss Shade Guava

Chantecaille Luminous Lip Gloss Shade Guava

A picture of Chantecaille Luminous Lip Gloss Shade Guava

This is a lip gloss from the brand Chantecaille. Before I got this (Xmas present), I had never heard of the brand before but from doing a little bit of research, I've understood that it is a high end brand and a little random fact- it's become quite known because Angelina Jolie was seen using one of these lip glosses. You can find the full size of this lip gloss here, for £27.

Here is a little info from the website: "CHANTECAILLE is the preeminent luxury brand for serious skincare and beautifying cosmetics known for its uniquely high concentration of natural botanicals. The line stands out for the extensive research and technological innovation invested in each ground-breaking formula. It is also distinguished by the exceptional purity of its ingredients, which are endowed with a potent life force capable of nourishing and revitalizing the skin, the body and the spirit."

A picture of Chantecaille Luminous Lip Gloss Shade Guava

As you can see the pigmentation is "medium", I'd say it's pretty pigmented for a lip gloss. The formula is super creamy and thick when you put it on, which you hopefully can see looking at the picture of the lip gloss applicator to the right. I found that it looked very nice paired with Collection 2000 Cream Puff Moisturising Lip Cream- you can see it in this makeup look (a few of you asked about the lip gloss I was wearing) and a review here.

A picture of Chantecaille Luminous Lip Gloss Shade Guava
Picture above borrowed from: www.chantecaille.com

I usually only use my own pictures in my blog but I just wanted to show you what the full sized products look like, and all the pretty colours. They are so gorgeous! I'd love to try out some more stuff from this brand but it is pretty pricey. Lucky I got this lip gloss from my aunty!

Which one is your favourite shade?

♥ My Pink Lipsticks

Lipstick Collection; My pink lipsticks

I got the idea for this post after seeing a few "my lipstick collection post". With all of them, I though wow that is a big collections, but was then shocked to read "so yeah these were only my reds". What I am trying to say is that compared to a lot of bbloggers, my collection is not big.
I don't like having duplicates and as you can see these are all very different shades of pink (except for the two nudes).
Therefore I decided to show me my favourites shades- the pinks! I wear one of these almost daily and I love all of these different shades.

(click on the linked ones to read a review/overview)

Above you can see some close ups, and below I've swatched all of them! :)

♥ Shopping My Stash

Shopping My Stash

Nivea Pure & Natural Moisturising Day Cream: For a brand like Nivea, with creams and face creams usually packed with mineral oil- this is a great product! The glass jar gives a less cheap feel to the product, and it contains Argan Oil. It absorbs quickly and is very light but yet  moisturises your skin. I just haven't finished it because I got way too many face moisturisers lately.

St Ives Sensitive Skin Apricot Scrub Gentle: This is another great affordable product. Even though it's gentle, it definitely has enough of exfoliating beads for a great scrub, leaving your skin soft! The beads are walnut shell powder and it doesn't contain sulfates which is a plus!

Burt's Bees Coconut Foot Cream with Vitamin E: This is a completely natural product with the top ingredients Glycerine, Olive Oil, Oat Kernel Flour & Lanolin. So as you can see it is not water based. It is not a cream, but more like a salve or pomade and works best as an over night treatment as it is very thick and sticky.

The cream puff from Collection 2000 is a great product, you can see my review here. The Lavera cream is all natural and has got SPF 15, but due to the Zinc Oxide it's very white and leaves your face with a white film. Love the fully organic NYR eyeliner but I'm just too bad at using up an expensive product like this- don't wanna waste it.

Do you have any products you like
but never got around to finish?

♥ The Body Shop Love Gloss

The Body Shop Love Gloss Shade 01

Described on the Body Shop website: "This high-shine lip gloss comes with a heart-shaped wand for precise application- High gloss, Moisturising and Precision applicator"

Here is another everyday super yummy lip gloss from the Body Shop. It's called "Love Gloss", hence the cute heart shaped wand. I've got the shade 01 natural and I would say that it's clear, but as you can see it's light red/pink.

The ingredients are great, actually slightly better than their other lip glosses with Sunflower Oil, Castor Oil & Coca Butter at the top of the list. See the whole list here

As you can see the lip gloss comes out clear so I would say it's a great every day lippy, or paired on top of your favourite lip stick. Also, it's smells very very sweet!

What do you think of this?
Have you tried the Body Shop Love Glosses?

♥ Tom Ford Violet Fatale

Tom Ford Lip Color 17 Violet Fatale

I am so excited to share today's review of this gorgeous Tom Ford lipstick. I got it a bit over a month ago and I now feel that I have worn it enough to give you guys a good review. It is £36 from the Harrod's website  (direct link) and the delivery was really quick.
See the other Tom Ford products they have.

As you can see, the packaging looks so amazing. The case is pretty heavy and made of a glass like material. The colour of the case is black but is slightly transparent and gives a hint of a burgundy shade in certain lights.

I was definitely excited about this particular shade, a gorgeous purple/plum autumn colour! However I have to say that the actual colour when swatching or wearing it is slightly different being lighter, and slightly more fuchsia rather than purple- it is still a gorgeous shade! The staying power is very good with about 3-4 hours and longer if you don't eat or drink anything. When the shade starts to wear off there will still be some colour on your lips, sort of like a lip stain.

These particular lip sticks come in 20 shades in total, so there are 19 other shades to chose from with many pinks, nudes and reds. See all the shades here.
Now to the most important part (at least according to me). Amazing ingredient list. Well, it is really long but from what I can tell it's filled with quite a few great ingredients. Castor Oil is at the very top and in the middle after the waxes there are loads of nourishing oils, extracts and butters such as Soja Bean extract, Camomile flower oil and Shea Butter.

Ingredients Check NO= (/), YES= (√) :

  • Mineral Oil (/)
  • Silicones (/)
  • Parabens (/)

I absolutely love this guys- everything from the packaging to the creamy formula.
Has anyone tried this, and what do you think of the shade?

♥ My forgotten about Lip Glosses & Lipsticks

My forgotten about Lip Glosses & Lipsticks
I decided to show my least used lip glosses and lip sticks from my collection. Before I went to Sweden a few months ago, I even planned a post showing my whole lip product collection. Some of them I don't really like, like the first one from NYC. All the others I should really try to use more often :)

♥ BodyShop Watermelon Lip Gloss

BodyShop Watermelon Lip Gloss

Description: "High-impact, glossy colour with a juicy watermelon flavour. This luscious lip gloss delivers super-shiny, sheer colour."

I must say I agree with the description. It smells amazing, you know one of those you just want to  eat. It is an orange/coral very sheer lip gloss. If you look at the picture below you can see that it actually has a tiny bit of glitter in it.

As the description says, it's sheer, which means don't expect it to look orange/coral on your lips- it will only give a tint. As with the Coconut One (review here), it's very thick and moisturizing. The second ingredient is Castor Oil which is amazing (full ingredient list here)

This is my new every day lip gloss, it moisturises my lips and smells amazing. Even though dark lips are very hyped during winter and autumn, I feel like a thick lip gloss will really protect your lips in the cold from drying out.

What do you think of this? & What's your absolute favourite scent?

♥ BodyShop Coconut Lip Gloss

BodyShop Coconut Lip Gloss
Description: "High-impact, glossy colour with a creamy coconut flavour. "

I think this is a fairly new product from The BodyShop and it smells a-maazing guys. It reminds me of a lipgloss I had when I was younger from Barry M. The scent is Coconut and I think it smells a bit like vanilla too. Personally I LOVE those to flavours so I can't stop sniffing this. Staying power is around 3 hours, without eating or drinking. Get it for here £7.

It is a light pink thick gloss with quite a few fine glitters (is that the word lol) in it. Here is what it looks like on it's own. As with every light pink or light lip product it has a slight lip plumping effect as you can see.

After I took my FOTD photos (previous post) I tried applying it on top of this creamy Calvin Klein Lipstick. I think it's a great combo!

♥ Elf Palette Lip Gloss

Elf Palette Lip Gloss

When seeing this lip gloss in my ELF palette I didn't think much of it. To me, it looks a bit reddish, which is really strange because when you apply it it goes on like a light pink nudish colour.

The formulation is like a very creamy lip stick or a very pigmented lip gloss. It's moisturising on the lips and it doesn't make them feel dry.

Here are some pictures in different lights, of the results..

What do you think? Have you tried ELF lipglosses, or palettes?
