MontBleu Glass Files Review- Glass Foot File, Zodiac Nail File, Tweezers, Glass Cuticle Stick

Hi Everyone!

Today I have some really excited products to review- glass nail files and nail tools from Mont Bleu. These are all available at https://www.design-glassware.com and I was kindly sent them to review for my blog. Now I have been blogging for many years and if you have been a follower of my blog during my first years of blogging you would remember that I mainly wrote about nail care and nail varnishes. You can see all of my posts about nail care here.

I have to admit it has been a while since I posted any nail related posts and that is why I am so excited to share these products. As of a few years back, I have only used glass nail files anyway. The first one I tried was from Superdrug or Boots, then I bought one in Sweden and the last one before these was from Primark I believe. What I like about glass nail files is mainly that they're not disposable like the emery board files- they can last for a long time and you can easily clean them. All of the ones I've tried previously actually broke in the end so that kind of defeats the purpose.
My Mont Bleu files have all lasted so far- and in all honesty I've had them for quite some time as my review is a little delayed due to a hectic University schedule. So I can definitely say they are of great quality and the best quality I have tried so far. Oh and lastly- they all come in convenient and nice cases as you can see.

MontBleu Glass Files Review- Glass Foot File, Zodiac Nail File, Tweezers, Glass Cuticle Stick

I received a generous package containing all of the nail tools above. I believe I mentioned I like purple (my favourite colour) and that I'd like the Pisces nail file and as you can see I received loads more.

Here is what I thought about each of these nail tools:

Glass Foot File, €16 "Glass foot files and callus removers. Scrapers from Mont Bleu will gently remove hard skin and calluses, without any damage to the underlying skin and no danger of cuts or bleeding. The perfect alternative to your old pumice stone and metal scraper, glass scrapers are very durable and extremely hygienic. "

Before I was sent this product I didn't even know there were glass foot files. As you can see- it's made out of thick glass with the top part being the "handle" part and the top, clear part being the file part. I believe one side is more rough than the other but neither side actually feels rough. The result with this was actually amazing! I have previously tried Pumice stones and regular foot files and even thought they can remove skin they can sometimes leave your skin feeling a little rough- the opposite to what you want. With this file my heels are super soft every time I've used it, and I also feel like I have to use it less often than I would if I used a regular foot file or pumice stone. This is actually one of my favourite tools out of the ones I tried and I would purchase this myself if it ever breaks (which I doubt it would).

Mont Bleu Glass Foot File

Pisces Zodiac Nail File, €10: "Zodiac sign glass nail file “Pisces” made with SWAROVSKI® ELEMENTS. File is 135mm/5.32 inches long and supplied in velvet sleeve."

MontBleu Glass Files Review- Glass Foot File, Zodiac Nail File, Tweezers, Glass Cuticle Stick

3-piece Nail File Set with Crystals for Women, €27: "Set of 3 glass nail files “Comet Color” in 6 charming color variations, made with Swarovski crystals. The set includes large (195 mm/7.68 in), medium (135 mm/5.32 in) and small (90 mm/3.54 in) crystal nail files."

As I have 5 different nail files, I am not going to review them all separately. The three matching ones which are purple and pink in different sizes are part of this 3-piece set. They have a ton of different combinations, I have looked through them all on the website. As with all of the tools I receive the quality is amazing and I personally think these would make perfect gifts, and so would the Zodiac nail file that you can also see in the picture. The medium sized one is standard size just to give you a reference. The smallest one would be suitable in a small makeup bag, for travel or  to keep in your hand bag- the large one I actually haven't used so far as I tend to reach for the standard size one- but this could work well for Pedicures!

MontBleu Glass Files Review- Glass Foot File, Zodiac Nail File, Tweezers, Glass Cuticle Stick

Glass Nail File in Hard Case, €9: "Glass nail file in hard plastic case for extra damage resistance, 125mm/4.92 inches long; Purple color. Czech made glass nail file."

I love this one! I haven't actually seen this design anywhere else and to be honest I wouldn't have thought of it either. Glass files are great but they can be a little bit sharp and even though they are of good quality- they are glass and could break if they were damaged somehow. That's why I love this one as it has an actually case to protect it- making it perfect to keep in your handbag! I used to always try to have a nail file in my hand bag before, I don't even carry makeup in my bag or anything but I often find myself needing a nail file which is why I've kept this one in my handbag ever since I got it. Also great to bring if you're travelling! I can confirm it does get through air port checks if you want to bring it as hand luggage.

Slanted Tweezers, €4.99: "Slanted tweezers for shaping eyebrow hair, made of stainless steel, purple silicon covered for easy holding"

I am definitely a Tweezer person- I have always done my own eyebrows, by plucking with a Tweezer and I have to admit Tweezers can be a bit of a hit or miss. I like the fact that this comes with a case and of course that it is purple, however I can't say it's the best Tweezer I have ever tried in terms of grabbing small eyebrow hairs so I find myself reaching more for my other Tweezer. I tend to bring this one with me when I travel though as it's still decent.

Dual-end glass cuticle pusher for manicure and pedicure, €5.49: "Dual-end cuticle pusher made of glass. Achieve healthy looking nails in minutes with perfectly designed glass cuticle pusher. Length 92 mm / 3.62", Diameter 7 mm / 0.28"."

Here is another favourite of mine and really impressive product! I always use the wooden cuticle sticks so this type of product was definitely new to me. It was hard to get a really clear close up pictures of this one with my camera, one end is the sharp end to clean under your nails and the other is the actually cuticle "pusher". They are both of actual file material so I am a little cautious using this under my nails to clean them as I would with a wooden one. I tend to use this more to push cuticles down- the facts that it is a file material makes it more effective than a wooden cuticle stick to push down cuticles without leaving any "residue" behind.

Overall I loved these products as I am sure you can tell and I would definitely recommend that you visit their website which I linked in the beginning of their post or check out their social media accounts which are linked here: Twitter Pinterest Facebook Google+

October Favourites from Priti, Pur Minerals, BodyShop, Neals Yard Remedies, Weleda & Real Techniques

October Favourites from Priti, Pur Minerals, BodyShop, Neals Yard Remedies, Weleda & Real Techniques

October Favourites from Priti, Pur Minerals, BodyShop, Neals Yard Remedies, Weleda & Real Techniques

Completely natural nail varnish remover that removers all nail varnish and smells of orange oil. The only ingredients are Soy & Corn ester, orange oil and vegetable Glycerin. My mum got this for me recently on sale and they have since updated both the packaging and ingredient list. Check my review here.

I got this when I went to the Pur Minerals event recently and I really love it. I was super happy to get to try it out as my old mascara had just finished. It contains Argan Oil and it doesn't contain any alcohol at all. It has the plastic type of wand and is pretty big, so it is easy to cover all lashes when you're applying it.

This is another product I got at the Pur Minerals Event. I am positive you can tell how much I like this- since I've already hit pan! This is a little too light for me so I apply the Pur Minerals bronzer on top of it to correct the shade (see this in my everyday makeup routine video here). I've personally been using this as a foundation, applying it with a dense brush and it gives amazing coverage, I am so impressed with this. The coverage definitely lasts all day. If you are wondering why it looks so small it's because it is the smaller version which came with their starter kit.

Been loving this shade lately, it is baby pink so it is definitely very very light. Every time I wear this (on Instagram etc.) people ask what shade it is! Check it out in my Youtube tutorial here. Earthnicity is a natural makeup brand and I've previously reviewed their eyeshadows here. I am so impressed with this as the product is genuinely fully natural with ingredients like Castor Oil and more and is extremely pigmented. Stay tuned for a full review of this.

There isn't much to say about this, only because I am sure everyone has tried it. Why it is in my favourites is because I love Bodyshop body butters but I never ever tend to go for floral scents. This is highly fragranced of Moringa (which I assume is a flower lol), a smell which never caught my attention before- but I love using it now! I got this at the Bodyshop showcasing event which you can check out here

This has actually run out since I took the picture, but only because I've been using it so much. I got it in the In Style magazine (I think that's the name) which is amazing for such a great full size product. I love Neal's Yard Remedies and the ingredients are amazing as usual. Despite it containing loads of natural oils it is exactly what is says it is- a super moisturising face cream which is not heavy at all. Check out my other blog posts on their products here

I think this says something about being a protective baby cream but from what I can remember the ingredient list was that of a pretty basic ointment with mainly Lanolin and some natural oils. I got it at the Handpicked Media event and I've been loving it lately to use for my cuticles and hands. Dry cuticles is such a bad look and I've been applying this religiously to fight this winter weather we've got going on in London right now.

Last but not least, the two newest additions to my Real Techniques brush collection lol! That made it seem like I've got loads, but to be honest- I kind of do. I've got the started set , the travel essentials and the blush brush and shading brush (click the links for my reviews). I am sure you are all tired of hearing about these brushes as the hype has sort of passed over a year ago- but despite having that many Real Techniques brushes already, I was still really impressed with the quality and how soft they are.

Have you tried any of the products I mentioned in this post?

& What's your favourite Real Techniques brush?

Priti Soy Natural Nail Polish Remover Review and Ingredients

Priti Soy Natural Nail Polish Remover Review and Ingredients

Priti Soy Natural Nail Polish Remover Review and Ingredients

So my mum had been to some Salon/Beauty shop the other day and got me this, guess how exited I was. I do love natural beauty products even though I might not be as strict with only using them as I was about a year ago. The thing is that just before my mum gave me this, I'd had major issues with my nail varnish remover smelling so terrible in my room. I love my room smelling nice all the time (scented candles, hello!) and I also tend to get head aches easily, so I was pretty much procrastinating taking of my nail varnish all the time (and I also hate chipped nail varnish, bad combo lol). It was on sale so I think they have re formulated and changed the design around a little, find the new version here

Priti Soy Natural Nail Polish Remover Review and Ingredients

So looking at the ingredient list, I personally have no idea which one of these ingredient makes your nail varnish come of, but it sure does work! I was super impressed with the results which you can see below.
Priti Soy Natural Nail Polish Remover Review and Ingredients
My thumbs look so weird lol!!

So I wore one coat of Sally Hansen nail strengthener, two coats of KIKO nail varnish and one top coat. Quite a few coats in other words, of course the product doesn't come of as easily as if you used pure Acetone or something but after soaking a cotton pad in product and then starting to swipe off- it comes off.

Summary: What you can see in the picture is after I've done just that, so it leaves no residue or colour at all- I always get that with normal nail varnish remover! It smells really nice, it has some kind of orange scent which stays on your nails afterwards too. It also leaves your nails feeling proper conditioned, like after I've applied nail oil or something- love it!

Have you tried a completely natural nail varnish remover before?

♥ All Of My Spring and Summer Nail Polishes

All Of My Spring and Summer Nail Polishes
A lot of the nail polishes listed below are linked to a NOTD :)

Summer and spring bright and pastel nail varnish, nail polish, nail laquer

So I guess I wasn't alone in having the idea to show my spring nail polishes in a blog post. However, hope this is a little different as I threw in two pictures of my favourite nail polish storage (of ourse, they all don't fit in there) and I am showing you All of my bright, or light polishes that I think would look nice in the spring or summer. I also divided them into two categories, the £1-ers (lol) and the "normal" ones. I like cheap nail polish because how often do you really finish a nail polish?

First up: The £1-ers

♥ New in: Wet & Wild Palettes & Glass Nail File

New in: Wet & Wild Palettes & Glass Nail File

Again, I've done the "I've prepared the whole blog posts, edited pics, but for some reason I'm not writing and publishing" lol. Anywho, I've been a bit tired since I got back from Sweden. I did buy a few things in Sweden that I am soo excited about.

Wet & Wild Palettes  E246 Greed Gourmandise & E247 Pride Orgueil
I've been wanting to try this brand for really long, since it is (from what I've understood) a US bargain makeup brand. And oh my, I am so impressed. Just from the swatches above I could see that the mattes are incredibly pigmented ( swatched once, no primer ) and so are the shimmers in the green/blue palette. However, the shimmers in the palette greed gourmandise as you can see, are not pigmented at all. My guess is that the idea is that you pair these shadows together. And the silver shade is so cool, when swatched it turns silver/gold.

Claudia Glass Nail File
I'd seen these in Boots a few times but the one there cost something ridiculous like £19 so I didn't think more about it. Now that I was in Sweden, I saw it in a department store for £8 and I decided to get it. Because lately I've discovered that my nails have really been splitting every time I've used a regular nail file (emery boards) and there was nothing I could do about it. After trying this I LOVE IT, I'll probably never file my nails with a regular nail file again lol. This did not split my nails at all!

 DEPEND Top & Base Coat:
You might or might not remember that last time in Sweden I got a "all round" coat from this brand which was a-amazing! However, this time I couldn't find it anywhere, not sure if it was discontinued so I settled for these two.

Have you tried the brand Wet &Wild?
& Do you use a glass nail file?

♥ Di Palomo Enriching Hand & Nail Cream

Di Palomo White Grape & Aloe Enriching Hand & Nail Cream

Here is another product from the #bbloggersxmas event. It's quite small with 25 ml/0.8fl.oz. of product, but I just thought it made a perfect hand cream for my hand bag /makeup bag. I hadn't heard anything about the brand before but I was very happy with the results.

This products is pretty fragranced so if you have got sensitive skin or just don't like strong fragrances you might want to stay away from this. However I think this smells really nice.

The formula is non greasy, of medium thickness and feels very nourishing! Top ingredients are Grape Seed Oil with Aloe Vera leaf extract in the middle of the ingredient list. I am definitely happy with this as the ingredients are fairly natural and will turn your dry hands very soft!

Ingredient Check:

  • Mineral Oil (/)
  • Silicones (x)
  • Parabens (/)
  • Butylene/Propylene Glycol (/)

Get the full size 75ml product from Feel Unique for £6.30.

Have you tried this or anything else from
Di Palomo?

♥ DIY: Vitamin E- Jojoba & Sweet Orange Nail Oil

Did you know that Vitamin E can really help you if you have brittle nails that break vertically? I've had it before and it's really annoying, your nails grow, but just keep breaking until their really thin which eventually cause the to break horizontally too.

The Vitamin E molecule itself is too big to penetrate the nail, which is why it's commonly used with Jojoba Oil (which has smaller molecules). I use my own nail oil, its a Vitamin E- Jojoba & Sweet orange oil. The Sweet Orange Essential oil makes it smell amazing.

My nail oil is really easy and cheap (in the long run, or if you have some of the ingredients already.

You need an empty nail polish/oil container. I'm using an old nail oil one. A tip is to use a container with a fairly big whole at the top, otherwise you'll spill unnecessary amounts of oil trying to pour it.

The ingredients I use in my nail oil all happen to be from Holland & Barret (UK Health Shop):

-Grapeseed Oil with Vitamin E
-Sweet Orange Essential Oil
-Jojoba Oil

Of course, you can use only Jojoba oil and Vitamin E drops if you want to. Or make another recipe. I just think it's handy that the Vitamin E is in the Grapeseed oil, and I had it at home.

Why you shouldn't buy nail oils, I also wanted to say, even though you might not want to use this recipe. Keep in mind that all the nail oils out there are ridiculously overpriced. Be aware of bad ingredients, and if the ingredients are good, just read them, and make it yourself!

Here are some examples..

Solar Oil, approximately £7 for a normal sized bottle a think.

From what I've researched a lot of people have found that this is a good nail oil. These are the ingredients if you want to make it yourself:

Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Rice Bran Oil, Almond Fragrance, Tocopherol Acetate.

!Tocopherol Acetate is Vitamin E for those who don't know.

Sally Hansen Vitamin E Nail & Cuticle Oil, approximately £7
I would definitely not buy this, nor copy the ingredients because it contains mineral oil, parabens and silicones- quite a lot of them too. There are some good ingredients though such as: Safflower Oil, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5 (Panthenol), Wheat Germ Oil, Coconut Oil & Aloe Vera.

Carthamus Tinctorius Seed Oil (Safflower) , Tocopheryl Acetate , Isocetyl Alcohol , Cyclopentasiloxane , Cyclohexasiloxane , Panthenol , Propylparaben , Prunus Armeniaca Kernal Oil (Apricot) , Triticum Vulgare Germ Oil (Wheat) , Aqua (Water) , Cocos Nucifera Oil (Coconut) , Paraffinum Liquidum (Mineral Oil) , Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract , Citric Acid

Do you use nail oils & do you think they work? Any favorites?
