So I told a friend today that she should always look for the perfume that says Eau de parfum not Eau de Toilette, because the Eau de parfum one has more perfume in it, and will therefor last for longer and give more of a scent. She had no idea so I thought I'd share this with those of you who don't know!
Different kinds of perfumes.. the stronger ones at that top..
Perfume: This is the most expensive type because it contains 15-40% perfume concentrates .. it is sometimes called perfume extract.
Eau de parfum: The most common and also the cheapest pefume. It contains 7-15% perfume concentrates and this kind works best sprayed on clothes or fabrics.
Examples: Britney Spears- Fantasy, Rihanna-Fleur..
Eau de toilette: 1-7% perfume concentrates.. It has a light scent that does not stay on for as long as the other ones. Watch out for this when you buy expensive perfumes thinking it will stay on for long (this is what my friend did)..
Eau de cologne: Similar to the one above.
Did you know this? Do you think about this when you buy perfumes?

It's really good you explained which one is which. I always mix the percentage up. :) Btw I just found your blog and I think it's really cute. I'll love to catch up so you have a new follower :)!
ReplyDeletewow I had no idea of the difference between them! Thank you so much for the post. I guess it makes a lot more sense now that when I've used something more expensive and it didn't stay for as long as I thought it would have. By the way thank you for the sweet comment : ) And I guess a tip I can give you is to try to take your picture with a mirror so that you can see yourself on the the back of your camera. I used to do that a lot but now I got the hand of it : )
ReplyDeleteo wow i never knew!! thanks for the tip!
ReplyDeleteHelpful post, I have always been confused about perfume and eau de toilette!!
ReplyDeleteI actually had no idea! Although I always tend to shy away from Eau de Toilette simply because it sounds like toilet!
ReplyDeleteYep, celeb bb is good this year, obviously Romeo makes it quite nice to watch too, haha x
Ooh yes, my mother used to work for a boutique that specialised in perfume etc, so I've had an appreciation for proper 'perfumes' from quite a young age - I always find it surprising that not many people know this kind of thing, though, so it's a great post :) xx
ReplyDeleteGreat post,I'm so lucky to have discovered the difference in my teens. I always buy Edp, and if u notice e difference between edt and edp is like £5-£10 lol

I always choose Eau de parfum if I can help it, I did accidentally buy the 125ml bottle of Marc Jacobs Daisy Eau Fresh as an Eau de toilette and it hardly lasts, but does smell lovely :( xx
